CINDY WILSON
Born in Preston, Cindy Wilson is an Idaho native who recently retired from a 33 year education career teaching in both urban and rural school districts across Idaho.
Mrs. Wilson has been named Orofino Rotary Club Teacher of the Year and the Milken National Educator for Idaho. She received the NEA Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence and was designated the Idaho Human Rights Educator of the Year and the Meridian (West Ada) Teacher of the Year. She also received the Idaho Humanities Council Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award and the Concordia Law School Leaders in Action Award.
In an extension of her teaching, she has participated in student exchanges to Ireland, Japan, and the Middle East.
Mrs. Wilson has been active in the larger community as well, serving on the Idaho Board of Correction and the Idaho Law Foundation Law Related Education Board. She is a state committee member of the Idaho YMCA Youth Government program. She has been president of the women’s groups at her church and a counselor for Boy Scouts working toward their Citizenship merit badges.
Mrs. Wilson, who currently lives in Meridian, celebrates a 27 year marriage to her husband, Wayne, and enjoys spending time in the Idaho outdoors with him, their three grown children and their families.
