House Minority Leader Ilana Rubel was awarded the Primary Legislator Award for the 2022 Session.
She has served Boise’s District 18 in the Idaho Legislature since 2014, and has successfully sponsored and passed a broad array of important legislation supporting children and families, including the 2015 anti-bullying bill, the teacher career ladder, an incentive program for rural educators, funding for full- day kindergarten, a civics education requirement, insurance coverage for hearing aids for children who are deaf or hard of hearing, renter protections
and restoring preventive dental care to Medicaid.
She has served as the House Minority Leader since 2019. Representative Rubel is a graduate of Georgetown University and Harvard Law School, has represented technology companies for more than 20 years, and is the proud mother of four children who have attended Boise public schools.
Representative Rubel scored 100% on the 2021 and 2022 Kids Matter Index. We are proud to recognize her efforts on behalf of Idaho’s kids and families.
In her honor, ICAP will donate one hundred books from Book It Forward! Idaho to Garfield Elementary School.
